Recovery of Lithium and Lead-Acid Batteries
We analyse, test and recondition lithium and lead-acid batteries wherever technically and economically feasible. Before replacing a battery, we check whether the problem can be identified and resolved.
We carry out analyses and tests on batteries and battery systems to:
- Check the overall condition of the battery
- Identify possible causes of faults or loss of performance
- Test voltage, cells and behaviour during charging and discharging
- Repair of broken or worn parts
- Assessing the recovery of lithium batteries
- Assessing the recovery of lead-acid batteries
- Check connected components, where necessary
- Indicate whether the repair is technically feasible and cost-effective

Not all batteries can be recovered. The decision depends on the condition of the cells, the safety of the battery pack, the type of fault and the cost of the repair.
How to read the table
The table shows the main types of batteries we can analyse and, for each one, indicates whether it is possible to restore the remaining capacity or to repair the battery pack and its electronics: BMS, fuses, wiring, connectors and cell balancing.
The levels High e Media indicate that it is worth carrying out a technical diagnosis. They do not constitute a guarantee of repair or a success rate. Each battery is assessed on a case-by-case basis. The likelihood of recovery depends, amongst other things, on:
Actual cell status and remaining capacity
Battery age, quality and technology
Number of cycles and method of use
Type of fault
Presence of sulphation, damaged or unbalanced cells
Condition of the BMS, fuses, wiring and connectors
Any physical damage, overheating, swelling, water or leaks
We do our utmost to recover batteries and battery packs whenever it is safe, technically feasible and cost-effective to do so. We do not guarantee recovery: The outcome can only be determined following diagnosis and testing.
